There were no real surprises in store last Wednesday as Prairie Mountain Health hosted another virtual annual general meeting.
The AGM attracted 83 online viewers who, as well as learning about some of the health authority’s successes during the last fiscal year, got the opportunity to ask questions following the formal part of the presentation.
The meeting began with a welcome and a land acknowledgment from board chair Lon Cullen.
He noted PMH operates under the direction of a board of directors, appointed by the health minister, and went on to name his fellow board members – Donna Davidson, Jana Knight, Carla McLean, Judy Swanson, Jody Parsonage, David Moriaux, Lori Rodych, Wanda Sandy, Wade Schott and Shep Kaastra.
“Although board members reside in various communities throughout the health region, they represent the entire region at the board table,” he said.
He noted the board plans, manages, delivers and monitors and evaluates regional health services.
Cullen went on to thank the region’s executive managers and leadership team for their dedication and commitment in what was another challenging year in health care; and to the staff who, day in and day out, ensure the best possible care and services are provided in the region.
He also thanked the region’s community and patient partners “for working with us, challenging us, supporting us, and being patient with us, especially during difficult times.”
