It’s no secret that there are a lot of employers looking for workers to hire and fill shifts.
The Northern Manitoba Sector Council is facilitating The Pas and Area Job Fair on October 6 at the Metis Hall. The goal is to connect employers or training organizations with potential recruits.
“Employers were struggling to fill vacancies prior to COVID-19, but difficulties in hiring only magnified once the pandemic hit and people lost their jobs and did not return,” said Northern Manitoba Sector Council Project Coordinator Sharon Lidbetter. “Almost every employer has suffered, and we wanted to offer local employers and industries within the tri-community, a venue whereby they could perhaps increase their chances of filling those vacancies sooner rather than later. “Reconnecting in person and having that face-to-face contact is important in recruitment, and having it under one roof is convenient for not only the employer, but more importantly for the job seeker. Local supportive organizations will also be on hand to assist the job seeker with career development.”
