OCN classical singer wins four international awards

Mezzo-Soprano vocalist from Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN), Rhonda Head, has had an excited year in 2022 in terms of her music career. She has won three International awards for her single, 500 Years and one for Kisahkihitin I Love You. Head has won a total of 13 music awards with 12 of them being international awards.
“This is the third International music award the song, 500 Years, has won,” said Head. “I received the 2022 LIT Music Award in the Best Collaboration Music category for Kisahkihitin I Love You, and the 2022 LIT Talent Award for my song, 500 Years. I also won a 2022 One World Music Award for that same song. The Fourth award I won this year was a Global Music Award in the category of Best Protest Song and it was called Coming Home. This has been very exciting.”
