The Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the six new seniors’ homes that were built in The Pas at Mayer Way. This has all been part of the MMF’s strategy to deal with the housing crisis and to create affordable housing options for seniors, elders and low-income families.
“We have created around 89 affordable units for Red River Metis Seniors and families throughout Manitoba,” said MMF Housing Minister Will Goodon. “The unveiling of six new seniors’ homes in The Pas was part of the MMF’s $10.3 million investment, which includes a brand new 40-space licensed childcare centre, affordable housing units, a community garden and a public park.
