The Zone 11 Track and Field Championships were hosted by MBCI at the end of May, with impressive performances coming from MBCI athletes throughout the two day meet.
JV athlete Travis Ellenor won first in the JV Boys 200m and Long Jump and placed 2nd in JV Boys 400m and was joined by a number of fellow MBCI athletes in having a solid couple of days on the track.
According to Coach Jason Dunham, MBCI will be sending 12 athletes to provincials tomorrow and Friday and overall he was impressed with the overall performance of the athletes.
“Track and Field is a very new experience for most of the athletes. This has been the first season of track and field since spring 2019 so the season has been all about exposure to the sport,” Dunham explained.
