Higher weight limits wanted

Published on Sunday, 16 June 2024 14:14

Municipality of Roblin council has passed a resolution requesting that the Association of Manitoba Municipalities (AMM) lobby the provincial government to increase the weight limits to RTAC (Road Transportation Act of Canada) standards on graveled provincial roads, thereby allowing farmers and businesses to transport goods to RTAC highways.

Council has received numerous requests from ratepayers who are being weighed on graveled PRs while trying to travel to an RTAC route and are subsequently being fined.
