WEEK 1 | JANUARY 7 - The Swan Valley Stampeders held their first annual Skills Challenge this past weekend, Jan. 5, with four events where players competed in the Hardest Shot, Fastest Skater, an Obstacle Course and a shootout, followed by a deciding goalie goal contest to crown the champions of the Skills Challenge.

WEEK 1 | JANUARY 7 - The New Year has arrived, with the early days of 2025 welcoming the Swan River Valley with one of winter’s cold snaps. Temperatures reached their coldest this year on Jan. 4 with a reported -38.7C low. Forecasts indicate temperatures to return to single digits this week.

Gobble Gobble
This past Friday saw a mind ‘gobbling’ surprise, as a wild turkey found its way into town on Westwind Road. The turkey curiously wandered around the neighbourhood and made good use of any food found on the voyage. In that specific neighbourhood, deer are more common to be around the area, in this case, a single turkey found its way.
