It's campsite booking time

The Manitoba government is encouraging campers and nature enthusiasts to mark their calendars, as provincial park campground reservations will open over five days from April 7 to 11.
To accommodate high demand, reservations will once again open in stages over five days to make it easier to secure a spot at favorite provincial park campgrounds.

Branconnier recognized

A local entrepreneur was recognized by the Parkland Chamber of Commerce at its annual Celebration Night March 19.
Roblin’s own Myles Branconnier of MDB Outdoors was chosen as the winner of the 2024 Start-Up Business award.

RDC members do well

The Roblin Dance Club Suzir’ja Ukrainian Dancers along with instructor Brian Senderewich, attended the Regina Tavria Festival in Regina March 15 and 16 and had great success.
The Roblin Dance Club also participated in the North Western Marquette Festival of Arts in Russell on March 10.

Roblin Skating Club holds finale

The Roblin Skating Club held its season-ending showcase March 16 with 12 individual and group performances along with special guests Julia Wray of Russell and the Blades United Synchro Team.
The theme for the finale was Movie Night.

RDCF has more cash to give away

The Roblin District Community Foundation has even more cash to give away this year.
Thanks to the legacy of a mild-mannered shrewd accountant by the name of Thomas Sill whose philanthropy has been benefitting Manitobans since 1986.

Prairie Mountain RCMP now have body worn cameras (BWC).
Since November 2024, over 1000 BWC’s have been rolled out across the country to RCMP members per month. Every member in the Roblin/Russell area now have them.

Province unveils Budget 2025

The Manitoba government unveiled its 2025 budget Thursday with record spending of $3.7 billion in capital projects and an extra $1.1 billion to help fight the effects of US tariffs on Canadian goods.
Of that, $500 million will go toward helping businesses find new markets to send products, give loans to Manitoba businesses, and support farmers.

McGinnis foursome wins Mixed

The final bonspiel of the 2024-25 curling season played out March 13 to 15 with 16 rinks battling it out.
This year’s Mixed featured three events and another great banquet by Marta.

MVSD presents draft budget

The tax bill for those living within the boundaries of Mountain View School Division will have a different look for a variety of reasons.
Presenting a draft 2025-26 budget at a public forum, Mar. 6, MVSD secretary-treasurer Lori Slepicka indicated the division has increased its budget requirements by approximately $2.6 million from $50,816,934 last year to $53,487,961 in 2025-26.
