Parking Lot Party an opportunity to explore all that Parkland Campus offers

Sometimes taking the first step means actually taking a few steps. If you’ve never set foot in a college, it can feel intimidating to think about attending. But once you make it onto campus, meet the friendly folks who work there, and figure out where things are, you’ll soon be a pro.
That’s what we’re hoping to show our community, May 30. From 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., everyone is invited to our Assiniboine College Parkland campus Parking Lot Party and Program Showcase. We want to take the mystery out of our facility.
All members of the public are invited to stop by our campus at 520 Whitmore Ave. East, at Mountain Road, for a free outdoor barbecue, music, and to meet our Parkland team, including our staff, faculty and academic leaders.
We welcome all families and friends, with extra special fun activities for kids. Win great prizes by playing campus bingo and exploring our spaces. We are proud to show off our state-of-the-art trades shops, student lounge, nursing lab, classrooms, and our on-site Parkland Campus Kids childcare centre.
This free public event is a great time for everyone to stop by for an informal visit and to let us introduce ourselves.
Our staff and faculty are here to explain each of the programs that we offer at Parkland, with hands-on activities for you to try out, and to hear about what you’d like to learn from us.
If you happen to be thinking about your next education steps, come and see what Parkland campus can offer you.
We have eight diploma and certificate programs starting this September and others such as practical nursing and plumbing will start next year. At Parkland campus you can earn your Grade 12 diploma or upgrade your skills, take our wide variety of continuing studies and special interest courses, and we offer alternative education options, such as online programs and evening and weekend courses.
We also have many services and dedicated staff in place to support student success and to provide a great student experience. Meet our student success advisor, who is here full-time on campus, to learn more about financial assistance, including scholarships and tuition-rebates which may be available to all those taking our programs. We provide lots of academic assistance along the way, to help you work through your courses and succeed in your studies.
And if you’re already familiar with us, as a student, alumni, employer or community partner, please come back for a visit. We want to hear what you’ve been up to.
