Ice Dogs win provincials
The Roblin Ice Dogs – a team made up of girls from across the Parkland including Winnipegosis, Dauphin, Swan River, Russell and Roblin – travelled to Holland, Manitoba over the Feb. 22 weekend to participate in the U11 Rural “C” Female Provincials.
In game one the girls walked through Cross Lake. Jordyn Foxon lead the way with four goals and two assists.

More cash for Mountain View
Funding for Manitoba schools will increase by $67 million for the 2025-26 school year.
And that means a 6.5 per cent bump for Mountain View School Division (MVSD).

Driver flees from police
RCMP responded to 24 calls for service in the Roblin area over the last two weeks including an incident where a driver fled from police.
There were total of 69 calls for service in the Prairie Mountain Area over the last two weeks.

50 & Over Club holds AGM
Members of Roblin’s 50 & Over Club gathered at the Drop-In Feb. 18 for the club’s annual general meeting.
There was a Moment of Silence to remember members who passed in 2024: Julius Zimmer, Muriel Dixon, Jodi Wizniak, Hazel McGinnis, Cassie Bailey, C.J. Beattie, and Eleanor Poyser.

CWD surveillance improved
Manitoba Natural Resources and Indigenous Futures is highlighting the success of the 2024-25 chronic wasting disease (CWD) surveillance program.
The department is doing so wants to stress the importance of increased participation for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

In July 2023, new offences were created under the Highway Traffic Act to deter people from driving on closed highways.
Please beware, if you venture out on a closed road and then get stuck, hit the ditch, or get in an accident, it is not guaranteed that emergency services are coming to help you.

New rules for Clear Lake
Boaters are once again looking forward to enjoying some time on the waters of Clear Lake in 2025 after Parks Canada announced it’s plans to permit watercraft on the lake, reversing a complete ban imposed last season.
The decision was made after the discovery of hundreds of live juvenile zebra mussels attached to docks and infrastructure near the east end of Clear Lake in the fall of 2024.
