Getting the Lions roaring again
A visit to Roblin’s Fall Harvest Festival craft show to sell tickets for a Lions fundraiser may mean we’ll be hearing them roaring here again.
5M13 District Lions (Manitoba) is inviting all community members to attend an upcoming information meeting to gauge interest in the Lions and once again working together to collaborate on projects that will improve the lives of neighbors and the community.

Province shifts to plastic, digital
Manitobans can now apply for a modernized plastic health card online.
“I’m sure Manitobans are just as excited as we are to say goodbye to a fading paper card and replace it with a more durable option,” said Mike Moroz, minister of innovation and new technology. “This is just one step our government is taking to both modernize government services and make sure Manitobans can easily access services they need.”

The region served by Mountain View School Division has a great many organizations and agencies working to better their communities and the lives of the people living in them.
Most recently, the Rotary Club of Dauphin donated funds to support the purchase of books for high school students with an emphasis on supporting student mental health.

MVSD hosts community reconciliation workshop
Local residents are getting a real opportunity next week to learn about reconciliation at a unique workshop thanks to the Mountain View School Division.
The division’s Indigenous Education department is bringing its popular Umbay Nagamon Community Reconciliation Workshop to the Life & Art Centre on Jan. 23.

Former Northstar new Pres and CEO
A former Roblin Northstar who suited up for the team in early ‘90s has been appointed as the new president and CEO of Richardson International Limited.
Darwin Sobkow took on his new role in the company Jan. 10, 2025 with the retirement of Curt Vossen after nearly 30 years at the helm.

Christmas Day caller wanted a ride
Roblin RCMP received a 911 hang up call about 1:45 a.m. Christmas Day. The person who called was intoxicated and wanted a ride.
Members attended but did not locate the person. Person was located at home.

A beginners guide to CDB, CDH and THC
A growing number of consumers are turning to products derived from cannabis plants to treat an array of conditions. Formulations include gummies and other edibles, tinctures, vapes, and even beverages.
