Birdie Up
The SVRSS Tigers badminton team hosted their first tournament of their season with teams from Flin Flon, The Pas, OCN, Ethelbert, Roblin, Rorketon and Swan Valley taking part in the singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournament.
On the Hunt
The Elbert Chartrand Friendship Centre held their Easter Egg Hunt where nearly 150 youth came out to hunt for eggs and for prizes.
A $10,000 Fish
The Valley Lions Clubs came together on Saturday (March 18) to host the 24th annual Billy Beal Classic Ice Fishing Derby at Whitefish Lake. Always a well-attended event, this year’s return after a COVID-19 break was no different. With $10,000 up for grabs, Winnipegosis’ Thomas McKay landed a 4 lb. 2 oz. Northern Pike with 14 minutes left in the tournament and weighed it in with six minutes remaining. Despite the cold temperatures, it was a successful event out on the ice.
