Madison Haliuk can’t a remember a time when she wasn’t playing hockey.

So far, the week she spent on the ice with the other members of Team Manitoba at the 2022 National Aboriginal Hockey Championship, tops all the rest.

“I had an amazing experience in Membertou,” Madison said.  “I played with a lot of great girls on my team and just had the funnest week of hockey ever.”

Madison and her mom Estha Basely arrived to join her team mates in Membertou, Nova Scotia on the Friday before the national tournament began.

Being a farmer, Madison’s dad, Brian Haliuk had to stay behind in Binscarth to mind the family business.
