Prairie Mountain RCMP now have body worn cameras (BWC).
Since November 2024, over 1000 BWC’s have been rolled out across the country to RCMP members per month. Every member in the Roblin/Russell area now have them.

Province unveils Budget 2025

The Manitoba government unveiled its 2025 budget Thursday with record spending of $3.7 billion in capital projects and an extra $1.1 billion to help fight the effects of US tariffs on Canadian goods.
Of that, $500 million will go toward helping businesses find new markets to send products, give loans to Manitoba businesses, and support farmers.

McGinnis foursome wins Mixed

The final bonspiel of the 2024-25 curling season played out March 13 to 15 with 16 rinks battling it out.
This year’s Mixed featured three events and another great banquet by Marta.

MVSD presents draft budget

The tax bill for those living within the boundaries of Mountain View School Division will have a different look for a variety of reasons.
Presenting a draft 2025-26 budget at a public forum, Mar. 6, MVSD secretary-treasurer Lori Slepicka indicated the division has increased its budget requirements by approximately $2.6 million from $50,816,934 last year to $53,487,961 in 2025-26.

Fish derby a success

The weather was absolutely delightful for the annual Langan Lake Fish Derby held Saturday, March 8 and hosted by the San Clara/Boggy Creek Métis Local.
The first prize of $1,000 went to Ryan Lemieux of Esterhazy who landed a 26 inch long specimen.

Smith's Saltcoats squad wins Men's

A rink from Saltcoats triumphed over all comers to win Roblin’s annual Men’s bonspiel.
This year’s spiel featured 16 rinks in a pooled round robin format with the winners in each pool advancing to the first event bracket and rinks finishing second, third and fourth to the second, third and fourth events.

No foul play in Gregoire deaths

A man and his adult daughter from Roblin who were found dead in their vacation apartment in Mazatlán were not murdered as initially believed.
Rumours of foul play began circulating in the community Tuesday after news of the deaths of Marcel Gregoire, 78, and his daughter Kanene, 47, made the rounds.

Concerned neighbour calls

Roblin RCMP responded to call from a concerned neighbour around 8:30 in the evening of Feb. 28.Neighbour had heard a loud bang and figured they were having sex, but wasn’t sure and wanted police to check it out.
Members checked it out and everything was fine.
