Fusion CU shares its success
At the annual general meeting held April 16 via webcast conference, Fusion Credit Union announced a $1.26 million return to members in the form of patronage allocations and cash pay-outs to select members.

MOR gets funds for new pit
The Manitoba government has selected municipalities in the Parkland region of Manitoba to receive up to $2.7 million through the Manitoba Growth, Renewal and Opportunities (Manitoba GRO) program.
The funding was announced April 15 by municipal and northern relations minister Glen Simard.

911 abuse dealt with
Roblin RCMP received a report on April 6 of a person calling 911 numerous times regarding a family custody issue. Members talked to person on the phone to tell them to call their lawyer, but person continued to call 911.
Members attended and tried to explain again the abuse of 911, person indicated they will continue to call 911. Person was arrested and put in cells for the night.

Aceholes come out on top
The third annual Roblin Nursery School & School Age Program was able to take place April 4 to 5 at Goose Lake High (a snow storm postponed it from the original March 28 to 29 weekend).
Six teams took part in the tournament – Aceholes, Setsy and I know it, Nice Tips and Tight Bumps, Stiff Blocks, Serves You Right, and the Ball Busters.

Candidates have their say
Voters are going to polls April 28 to elect members of the House of Commons to the 45th Canadian Parliament.
Candidates vying in the newly-named Riding Mountain riding are Liz Clayton, Green Party of Canada; Terry Hayward, Liberal Party of Canada; Andy Maxwell, New Democratic Party of Canada; incumbent MP Dan Mazier, Conservative Party of Canada; and Jim Oliver of the People’s Party of Canada.

Surplus funds transferred
Council has transferred a surplus from the Doctor Recruitment and Retention funds to the Health Care Reserve according to a resolution passed on Dec. 30, 2024. The transfer was approved at its regular March 25 meeting.
A total of $65,300 in unspent funds from 2024 were transferred to the Health Care Reserve.

Province funding Whiteout parties
The Winnipeg Jets Whiteout Street Party will return to downtown Winnipeg this spring, with the Manitoba government providing funding to help fans celebrate.
“Our government is excited to help bring the Jets whiteout parties to downtown Winnipeg for what we hope is a lengthy playoff run,” said Premier Wab Kinew.

Legion launches banner projectd
The Roblin Branch #24 of the Royal Canadian Legion has launched a new project to recognize local veterans of Canada’s military and the RCMP.
The Roblin & District Street Banner Project, undertaken with the support and assistance of the Municipality of Roblin, will give family and friends a unique way to pay tribute to their loved ones with banners that will be hung up on downtown streets.

Lions hope to resurrect Roblin club
The governing body for Lions in Minnesota, Northwest Ontario, and Manitoba wants to hear roaring in Roblin again.
