PMH making some gains

Through proactiveness, persistence and partnerships, Prairie Mountain Health (PMH) has made gains in filling physician vacancies over the last year.
Dr. Adrian Fung, PMH Chief Medical Officer, says the vacancy picture is improving, with 32 doctors recruited to work within PMH communities since last April. He says this is a credit to the region’s recruitment team and continued collaboration with health-care partners and stakeholders.

RCMP closer than ever

It has been five years since Melinda Lynxleg was last seen by anyone. Her remains were located on June 7, 2023 at an abandoned property in San Clara. An autopsy confirmed her death was a homicide.
The RCMP has spent thousands of hours looking for answers but new information has come to light and the RCMP are closer than ever.

Dube recognized

Brayden Dube of the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders was recognized for his play at the team’s recent awards night.
Dube was named the team’s Most Improved Player.

Championship for Hramalak

Roblin’s own Brooklyn Hramalak has added more hardware to her trophy case.
Hramalak and her Regina U22 Rebels defeated the Outlook Ice Hawks 4-1 on March 29 to capture the SFJHL provincial championship.

Voters headed to the polls

Voters are going to polls April 28 to elect members of the House of Commons to the 45th Canadian Parliament.
The writs of election were issued March 23, after Governor General Mary Simon accepted a request to dissolve parliament from Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Branconnier recognized

A local entrepreneur was recognized by the Parkland Chamber of Commerce at its annual Celebration Night March 19.
Roblin’s own Myles Branconnier of MDB Outdoors was chosen as the winner of the 2024 Start-Up Business award.

RDC members do well

The Roblin Dance Club Suzir’ja Ukrainian Dancers along with instructor Brian Senderewich, attended the Regina Tavria Festival in Regina March 15 and 16 and had great success.
The Roblin Dance Club also participated in the North Western Marquette Festival of Arts in Russell on March 10.

The Roblin Skating Club held its season-ending showcase March 16 with 12 individual and group performances along with special guests Julia Wray of Russell and the Blades United Synchro Team.
The theme for the finale was Movie Night.
