Board games at the library
Do you enjoy trying new things, or meeting new people? Join us every other Saturday afternoon starting in September for fun with board games.
If board games aren’t your style we will be hosting more craft hour activities in the library as well, for kids, families or just adults!

Fair and rodeo a success
All the effort put in to the fair and rodeo by members of the Roblin Agricultural Society and its volunteers has paid off.
From the exhibit hall and the King Farmer competition to the rodeos and the Roblin’s Got Talent contest, the weekend show was another successful one.
“It was good,” said ag society president Ellen Arnott with a chuckle.

Moose meetings held
A series of three Moose Management town hall meetings for the Duck and Porcupine Mountain areas were held recently in Dauphin, Swan River and Roblin and left a lot of questions unanswered.
The town halls were hosted by the Centre for Indigenous Environmental Resources (CIER), Manitoba Natural Resources and Northern Development along with the Canadian Section of the Wildlife Society.

Fair hosts Roblin's Got Talent show
A move to jump on the Star Search/Canada’s Got Talent/
American Idol band wagon was a great one for the Roblin Agriculture Society.
“I heard a lot of positive comments about the event. People really enjoyed it,” noted ag society president Ellen Arnott. “We weren’t even sure if it was going to go because we only had one person registered on Monday. But in the end we had eight competitors and two junior competitors so everything worked out.”

Plant-based business continues to grow
Hitting the farmers’ market circuit and the buzz about their all-natural, home-made products has been a great business move for Deanna and Ben Andres.
The couple, who live on an acreage east of Swan River, began experimenting with plant-based remedies about four years ago because of their children, Dryden and Clara.

What's up doc?
There is a growing and apparent need for more physicians in Manitoba, and recently a former Roblinite has completed her medical studies and residency to become a physician in Canada.
Dr. Jenilee Misko, the daughter of Robert and Leifa Misko, recently passed her certification exam in Family Medicine from the College of Physicians of Canada and graduated from the U of M this past June.

Greenhouse holds ribbon cutting
A dream that was conceived eight years ago was realized July 27 when Vermillion Growers Ltd., hosted the grand opening of its greenhouse facility in Dauphin.
Vermillion Growers uses an innovative, fully-automated control system for growing vegetables under glass greenhouses. The greenhouse showcases industry-leading Gakon Netafim irrigation and greenhouse technology that reduces the amount of water and energy used by 50 per cent.

The Roblin Chamber of Commerce along with the Municipality of Roblin Recreation Department has partnered to offer an amazing celebration of community and the season of harvest.
